Enter.

An entryway is probably a forgotten piece in the home, even though it is the first thing that invites you into your own home every single day- unless you don't leave your house everyday, but I guess that's ok. ;) Be inspired by some of my oldie, but goodie entryways. Make your entryway treat you well, so you can smile every time you enter your home!!
The windows and the blue door. I can't imagine anything more happy to say "Honey, I'm hoooome!"

Sometimes you don't want clutter greeting you at the front door- understandable. But it can still be chic

Ladies- glam glam glam. The pinks and taupes and florals say "you're beautiful!" when you get home.

Another happy, yet sophisticated entrance. Thanks Jonathan Adler for always being so great at making homes lovely.

'Hello, welcome to your relaxed home. You like to be romantic and I make you feel like lighting candles and reading a book.'

Fun times are in this home! Wwwatch out! It had to have taken a lot of work to make this look so good. I want that table  now

Notice the tile customized to fit the carpeting/rug. I think an artist lives here- the graphics, the bold colors- yess. All it needs is an easel with a paint palette to start screaming "BE CREATIVE" when the owner walks in the door.

True Inspiration.

I am captivated. I love how he posted words with his images. It changes everything. He is obsessed with memory. Sounded weird at first and then... I realized how important our memories are. They are everything we are and everything we have of our lives here. Think about it and then remember it.

This is a MTA pass from the NYC subways, they painted art on the discarded ones. NYC had a problem with it, she is now famous and sells lots of art. <3 it.

I want to make these to store medicine in them, like Tylenol, Advil, Cold Med, Vitamins. Pretty.

I am completely OBSESSED with those shoes!!!  I want bows on my feet. I'll take the dress, jacket, and hair color too!  I like its monochromatic feel, but then the accessories make it a perfect outfit.

Make your own wallpaper. Smart, chic. Think of the possibilities- endless

A pool that dark looks amazing. Those chairs remind me of American flags

Stunning. That is all.

Passion.

Whenever I get down, I head to the bookstore. Either because I am drawn to the knowledge and wisdom that is held in one giant room or because I am a law student that feels like I should be productive even when I am taking a break from studying. Anyway, throughout the year I have been finding myself reading books about finding my passion in life. My favorite book so far has been Warren Buffet's (the gagillionaire) son, Peter Buffet's book: Life is what you make it. Then I ventured into "The 4-Hour Work Week" by Tim Ferriss. Yesterday I finished reading my new favorite, Crush It: Cash in on Your Passion by Gary Vaynerchuk (this crazy wine lover with a Winelibrary.com).
I have been searching for my passion, when I realized this entire time that I was looking for some detailed niche of a passion to jump out at me, like "decorating" "fashion" "metalworking" "lawyering" "painting" "olympic swimming"-not! That is not my passion- those are hobbies or jobs!!! My passion is more broad than just a thing to do... it is colors, it is textures, it is patterns, it is materials and stones and metals and fabric and lace and velvet and canvas and ropes and and and and and... you see... I could go on and on about something none of you all care anything about. Well... some people out there DO care about these things. I am going to try to focus my blog on this passion. I want people to come to my site and be so excited about pink taffeta with silver rhinestones as I am just by stopping by my blog.

Employed.

I just started working at Pier 1! I love it. I get to be around home accessories for hours and hours. My mind just keeps thinking and planning. Right now, I probably have 15 different  dining rooms planned for my new apartment next year. I admit that I used to walk into Pier 1 and never find much, because too much is always going on in that place, but now that I get hours and hours to see everything, I LOVE EVERYTHING IN THE STORE!! Needless to say, work has got the better of me and definitely taken away from my blogging time. I will try really hard to blog regularly again. So please don't stop stopping by!

Black is the New Black.

Black doors are sexy. I really think that the typical door color needs to be black. Too often we let CONSTRUCTION COMPANY owners choose the design and colors of our home- that doesn't even make sense. Pick your own colors!

The best way to make a color pop is to lay it on top of black. That is exactly what this beautiful bathroom has done.
GORG.
(short for gorgeous)

We all know that when it is time to glam ourselves up that we need to put on a LBD (little black dress), well why not add a "little black dress" to a bedroom to make it glammed-up? One accent wall behind the bed will make the room more glamorous.

Most people want their entry way to be colorful and bright so it will welcome their guests and themselves into the home. CHANGE OF PLANS... black makes this entryway more warm and inviting. Makes me want to enter and curl up on the sofa with a fuzzy blanket.

I WILL have this exact replica of the entire bathroom in my home one day. A fireplace? A flat screen? A black  floor? Yes, please!

Have amazing books? Why not show them off with a black bookcase or built in... it is a must

Last 7 Pinterest Saturdays.

I have a slight obsession with Pinterest.com. (If anybody would like an invite- send me your email address). Pinterest is a website that allows you to "pin" photos from anywhere- I get most of mine from websites, but you can even upload them straight from your computer. Then you can organize them into boards. The greatest part of it is that you can see every image that other people pin as well. So, I have decided that every Saturday I will post on my blog, the last 6 pins I have had! I can't promise the images will make sense or tell any kind of story, but I can promise some interesting inspirations! Enjoy!

Getting Dressed.

I love clothes and outfits, but I hate getting ready in the morning. Showering feels great, until you get out of the shower and realize you have to dry your hair, put on make-up, pick out the clothes and outfits, and then somehow end up where you are going on time! I started a new job today, so I was up early to prepare. It turned out great, I love it! These ladies look GREAT while getting dressed, as I do not.

Craft Time.

One of my bestest friends is engaged! I made her a banner for her engagement party. Along with Bellini's and cheesecake-stuffed strawberries and raspberries. Delicious. Here is the banner. Be inspired- if I can do it, you can do it.  I just taped the scrapbook cardstock, which I stenciled letters, onto yarn.

Fit for a Queen.

It is either my love for puppies or Victoria Beckham's beauty that draws me into this photo so much that I can't stop loving it.
Now, wouldn't you think a "queen" as beautiful as Victoria would live in a kitchen like this one?
If there is a queen living in your home- and yes there is a princess living in mine, me. Then why not decorate like one. Okay, well for all of us non-queens out there... these crowns are so chic and I think they should be the new "it" items to have in your home, in fashion, and just anywhere - besides the head.
